Although we are an Edinburgh based choir we perform in many parts of Scotland.
We hope you enjoyed our last concert to celebrate International Women’s Day. It included music by Leonora d’Este, Lili Boulanger, Judith Bingham, Kerry Andrew and Roxanna Panufnik.
Review by Edinburgh Music Review
Our final concert of this season was to have been performed twice:
Last season the choir celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a Concert. On 15th June 2019 the atmospheric and historic venue of Old St Paul’s resonated to a concert of Scottish choral music through the ages. We explored the national choral repertoire from early plainchant to a brand new commission and revisited the choir library to include James MacMillan’s visceral Cantos Sagrados which was commissioned by the SCC in 1989 and now enjoys a prominent place in the international choral repertoire. Musical Director The choir first worked with Scottish conductor Iain McLarty in November 2015 and is delighted to be continuing to work with him for season – 2019/20.
Our next concert was to have been performed twice in June 2020:
13th June in Limekilns Parish Church
20th June in Biggar Kirk
the audience was surrounded by a really powerful sound, full of contrasts of voice and feeling
